The Pennsylvania Department of Aging was created in 1979 to advocate for Pennsylvanias rapidly growing older population.
Through a statewide network of 52 Area Agencies on Aging, the department provides many benefits and services to Pennsylvania's 2.5 million people over the age of 60. This population continues to grow each year, with the 85 and older population being the fastest growing segment.
