What is the Lehigh Valley Direct Care Workers Association (LVDCWA)? The Lehigh Valley Direct Care Workers Association is a professional network providing education and support for individuals working in Long Term Care to promote the retention of direct care workers; facilitate culture change within organizations to person centered care models; and increase access to the latest high-quality, relevant and cost-effective training.
We meet the third Tuesday of every month from 2:00 - 3:30. There is no fee to join and everyone is welcomed to stop by! Please join us!
Who is a Direct Care Worker? There are generally four types of Direct Care Workers: 1. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) 2. Home Health Aides 3. Personal and Home Care Aides 4. Adult Day Care Program Assistants
Direct Care Workers may be located in a home or a facility. We provide an estimated 70 - 80 percent of the hands-on long term care and personal assistance received by older adults and people living with disabilities or other chronic conditions. We help clients bathe, dress, and eat, among other daily tasks. We are the lifeline for clients and their families struggling to provide quality care!
